Every year coinciding with the Hollywood Oscar mayhem, on this site we choose an artist of the year,
who has done something really special for our culture.
This year I dedicate it to a dear friend and daring hero who passed away last summer:
yep, I'm talking about my mate and fellow Delftboys board-member Martin of Holland

Not many of us know how to put that much Umpff into their lives. It id not matter in the slightest if you agreed with him or not, or if he had a crush on you, your cock or asshole: he just socked his opinion to you uncompromising, full force, and for most that far surpassed galewarning 12, with risk of serious structural or mental damage as a result. Some never got to their feet again after the shock of their first encounter with him. Others, knew how to hold on to their ground and survived and prospered from his wild mind. Further he was an example to me and many friends of the totally uncompromising lifestyle and he did not care when the consequences got him imprisoned, as distribution of his extreme drawings still did in the sixties. Also he was the guiding light and pioneer of extreme parties, in his case dedicated to scat, which inspired artists like Bastille and the Hun. The parties started off in the seventies in the Olympic bar @ his hometown, later continued in Sjinderhannes Roermond and for the last decade of previous century in Vagevuur Eindhoven. The torch now is carried on by the scatboy site and faggot bikerclubs in France, Denmark and Sweden and in Berlin's Lab-oratory.
